Piper finds her forever home

Yay!  Today was a great day!  Piper was adopted by a great family in the Springs 🙂

We received notification from Vizsla Rescue (CWVRG, Inc.) yesterday that they felt they had a great home for Piper.  We read their housing visit report and were pleased to see that they had no issues letting their current V, Sammy, on the furniture.  This was a big bonus!  Piper just doesn’t feel like she should have to sleep in a dog bed on the floor, and trying to break her of her furniture tendencies was no easy task.  In fact, I’m not certain we made any progress on that front in the 6 weeks she was in our home.  Ever feel like the dogs train you?

Anyhow, the family is a perfect fit!  Initially, we set up the meeting and potential adoption for this coming Saturday.  However, after a few hours we got a call from Dwayne asking if there was any way he could come get her today…he is off on Tuesdays and just couldn’t wait!  It put us at ease that this home wanted her SO badly.

Sam (their 4 year old male V) and Piper met today with an uneventful hello.  By the time the adoption paperwork was signed, Sam was in bow position trying to get Piper to play.  Piper was ecstatic!  She was wagging her tail like crazy and had her front legs across Dwayne’s lap as he tried to sign all the paperwork.  So cute!  It was like she was trying to hurry him along.  After attempting an adoption photo — very difficult since Piper was so amped — she hopped right in her new crate without a single hesitation.  She has a family that already loves her to pieces, and we think she could tell 🙂

Today was a great day, a really, really great day!
