Cheeky’s 2nd Detective Leg!

We had another fab weekend in New Mexico! Having been to this trial site before, we had the routine down: stay in Santa Fe (Courtyard Marriott is dog-friendly,) exercise at the Frank Ortiz off-leash park, and meet up with family for dinner.

At Frank Ortiz Dog Park at sunset! This place is huge, you never run into another dog if you don’t want to!

This trip we went to Radish & Rye, where Jenny’s cousin, Paul, cooked our yummy dinner. If you are in Santa Fe, you have to go! It was absolutely AMAZING!

Cheeky and Jenny are becoming an amazing team, gaining in their confidence of working together. They managed qualifying runs in Master Container on Friday and Saturday their Q earned a 3rd place! On Sunday, it was a day for 2nd place ribbons: Cheeky picked up Qs in Container, Exterior, Buried AND Detective, ALL with 2nd place ribbons!! Since she already has her overall Master title, we are working towards Elite Master, and after this weekend she is only ONE qualify away from her Master Container Elite!

Cheeky picked up DECTECTIVE LEG #2 under Judge Caroline Kobe Oldham. She was so excited for us too, and even asked to take a picture with everyone that qualified! It was fun weekend seeing all our New Mexico friends. This being our third trial with the club, we’ve made some great friends down there and have fun cheering everyone on! Can’t wait for the next one!
