Karma ready for a therapy dog shift, doesn’t she look like a Candy Striper?
Yay for a great weekend! We kicked it off with Karma’s lobby orientation visit at Children’s. If you didn’t read our last blog entry, you can catch up here. Karma’s visit had to be short and sweet since we didn’t have a lot of extra time, but she was a champ in the lobby. She put a smile on so many faces and even met two kids with muscular dystrophy. The first boy didn’t speak and couldn’t see Karma because of the way his head was situated in his wheel chair. Jenny lifted Karma up so he could see her and you could see his eyes completely light up! We definitely get more out of each visit at Children’s than we give — definitely good for the soul to feel like you are making a difference in the patient’s experience at the hospital.
We spent the remainder of the weekend doing agility — it was a single ring trial, so it made for long days, but we totally don’t mind! The only bummer part was that some our friends couldn’t make this trial, but Dale, Katherine, and Sarah were there so we still had a ball!
Karma wrapped up the weekend with her 3rd MXJ leg — seriously making Jenny reconsider her goal list. We need 10 Q’s to get our MXJ which seemed like a long shot for 2012, but Karma is exceeding expectations (as always.)
Heather and Gunner also had a fabulous weekend — even though they had to skip out on agility. They went BOS and BOB this weekend to finish Gunner’s Grand Championship! So awesome! Heather was tempted to hand GG over to a handler a few times, but she stuck with it and finished her boy on her own. SO COOL.
