Double Q #3

What a long — but fun weekend!  Jenny had signed up to help set-up, tear-down, and work, work, work for the trial this weekend.  So we headed over Friday night to help set-up and then headed back over EARLY on Saturday.

Saturday was our perfect day.  First up was jumpers — the course today was fun and fast.  Karma picked up her jumpers Q and 10 MACH points on that run.  (Need an agility refresher?)  Indy needed to get measured as a requirement for his VC, so Marc and Indy were both there to cheer on Karma in Standard.  Indy must be her lucky charm — Karma picked up a Q in Standard and 12 MACH points!  That put Karma at 22 points and a double Q for the day!  After her run, Marc took Karma and Indy home (Indy measured in at 23.88” if anyone is curious) so Jenny could volunteer for the rest of the day.  Then it was off to dinner with a bunch of friends and immediately to bed for another early morning.

Sunday was a great day too — Karma Q’d in Standard and finished in 6th place!  This is our best placement in the Master class!  It was pretty cool.  Her screaming fast time earned her 21 MACH points.  So Karma came out of the weekend with 43 MACH points and a Double Q…pretty sweet!  Her Qs in Standard take her to her 6th MX leg — just 4 more for her MX title 🙂

It was a pretty fun weekend with our friends!  And on Memorial Day, we’d be remiss not to thank all those soldiers who have served and continue to serve this great country.  We’ll close with this poem by Charles Province:

It is the Soldier, not the minister, who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the Soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to protest.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.
It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
