Goodbye to our little Schmavitz

We just can’t believe he is gone. While we knew he had been declining and he had a lot of dementia, it still happened quite suddenly. And while he is our longest surviving dog, their little lives are just never long enough.

Not sure how to do justice to the dog Jenny’s whole adult life has been spent with. Confident we can’t. Getting Schmav was a turning point in Jenny’s life. Fresh off a crappy break-up, she got him from a flyer in the coffee break room at HP. (Yes! Her first dog was definitely NOT from a responsible breeder!) She was 23 and turns 40 next month.

Marc making sure his little buddy still got to hike in his old age.

Schmav was our littlest love with the heart of a lion. He picked out Marc — loving him instantly, when he had previously avoided most men. In fact, in many ways he became Marc’s little dog. Indy was his best buddy. He loved rides in the car, puppicinos, and was the easiest road trip companion ever. He has worked all over Colorado and Wyoming with Jenny. Not sure how to “adult” without you, Schmavy, but you were the best boy and we’ll love you always.
