Our little man is 6! So very hard to believe…
Since his birthday was on a Monday, we actually celebrated his big day on Sunday when we were off of work and could fully devote a day to our favorite Poodle!
Schmavitz spent his big day by going for a long off-leash walk with Karma, Indy, and Karma’s brother Gauge. Schmav must have known it was his big day because he was extra brave, and jumped into the “deep end” of the creek and swam his little heart out. We all cracked up watching him keep up with all the Vs. After the walk, we took Schmav for several rides in the car — his fav! One of those rides was to Chewy’s, our favorite pet store, to pick up some doggy frozen yogurt. To our surprise, the Poodle was the “dog of the day,” so Schmavitz got a free cookie!
He also got a mini-pheasant, his absolute favorite dog toy. If you haven’t seen “Best in Show” Schmavitz’s pheasant toy is totally “Busy Bee.” It has to be a certain brand or he won’t like it. Chewy’s didn’t have it, so we stopped by two more pet stores trying to find his pheasant. Drama, drama, drama. We did joke back and forth with lines from the movie about certain toys being “reminiscent of a pheasant.” So glad we can entertain ourselves so easily 🙂
At the end of the day, we FOUND THE PHEASANT, and Schmavitz’s birthday was saved! After enjoying a bowl of “Choc-o-not” fro-yo with Karma and Indy, he cuddled up in bed with Marc and his pheasant and happily went to sleep.
