Jenny’s birthday weekend

Yesterday was Jenny’s birthday, and she wanted to spend it up in Vail.  Unfortunately, the condo is in the thick of construction.  However, there is a Ritz Carleton down the road in Bachelor Gultch — and hey! any excuse to stay there right?!

First we headed up to the condo.  Marc decided he wanted to try his hand at doing some DIY, so while he worked on the bathroom renovation, Jenny took all the puppies down the road to the park.  The park is off-leash and includes a huge grassy soccer field and a small lake.  Halo is obsessed with getting to go swimming there, so she was in heaven.

After a nice 3 mile off-leash romp, we all headed over to Bachelor Gulch and checked into the Ritz.  It is SO nice to have a hotel that doesn’t treat you like a second class citizen because you are traveling with dogs.  They welcomed us and our 4 dogs with open arms, and even upgraded us to a 2,000 sq foot suite!  When we got in our room there were two huge dog beds, bowls, and treats.  For the humans they had a bottle of red wine and a birthday card waiting for Jenny.  It was heavenly.

That evening we all went down and made s’mores around the camp fire.  Karma was a crowd favorite and we think she had more than her fair share of graham crackers from bystanders who thought her wiggle was the cutest thing they’d ever seen.
