We keep expecting Cheeky to come in season, but in case she didn’t, Jenny entered in a couple out of town trials. The first was in Lubbock, Texas this weekend! Jenny worked down South and then wrapped up the drive to Texas after work. We had to do the last few hours after dark, but found our hotel no problem. But once we got there, the room was a problem. Fairly certain they did not clean it…crumbs everywhere, dirty surfaces, and the kicker — dead roach in the bathroom. Needless to say, if you are in Lubbock, we do not recommend the Homewood Suites! We ended up at the Home2Suites which was better, but pretty tired. Definitely going to do better research before our next Lubbock trip!
Despite the hotel debacle, Cheeky and I had a great time in Lubbock! She managed the only Q of the weekend in Master Handler Discrimination (2 different search areas) and also picked up an Excellent Container leg! If you know Cheeky, you know she thinks searching obvious articles in a circle is really dumb and tries to search the surroundings instead. We just thrilled to have her second SCE leg in the bag!
We were done early on Sunday and made great time back home to Denver. Weekend road trips with Cheeky are among our favorite things this summer!
