Merry Christmas 2020

What an emotional last month it has been. Jenny is still grieving the loss of her Father in late November. Karma who seemed to rebound right after that sad event now seems to be on a steady decline. She will be doing really well and then suddenly has a really bad day. The struggle to decide if she really does have lymphangiectasia (her working diagnosis) or if it’s something else that should could recover from is very difficult. Our vet has sadly informed us that we are losing the battle and need to think about letting her go in peace before she suffers. If it were any other dog, it might be easier to figure out. But it’s Karma. She wags her tail for us every time she makes eye contact. Is there a point when she will stop appearing so happy so we will know? For tonight we are thankful for one last Christmas with her and for time off work to spend 100% of our time by her side. And obviously, Jenny is wishing for a Christmas miracle.

Cheeky cuddling with Karma. We are all so worried about her.

In happier news, Marc received his first Pfizer Covid vaccine exactly one week ago. That’s a huge relief and definitely a bright spot in the month. Cheeky also got out for a little run with her best buddies, Archer & Marmalade, today. Marc stayed with Karma, and though Jenny hated leaving her, getting a little fresh air and exercise was good for the mental health.

Hope you are all having a very Happy Christmas, and if you have some extra good fortune, please offer some up to our sweet Karmie.
