Quadruple the fun!

Holy moly!  This had to be the absolute best agility day ever!  Karma was an absolute rockstar today and qualified in all FOUR of her events!  EEK!

First up was Open FAST.  We’ve said it enough — this is NOT our game because distance work just isn’t our thing.  But we actually qualified in our FAST run this morning!  The send was awesome  — jump, tunnel, then a recall over another jump.  Having that tunnel in there made it super motivating an FUN!  Jenny was so excited we actually got the send that she basically took Karma straight out of the ring.  Oops…we left 10 seconds on the table!  While we could have racked up some more points in that time, we still made it into the ribbons and Karma received a 3rd place rosette to go along with her Q.  In the 24’ class, Aja and Ginger got a Q and a blue!  And Heather and Gunner picked up a Q and 4th place — too cool, all three of our red heads got their first FAST leg today!

Next up was jumpers.  Jumpers is definitely our game and it showed today.  Karma picked up her 2nd Q of the day and 8 MACH points.  Woo-hoo.  Gunner and Aja both qualified too and Gunner’s Q finished his AXJ title — next time he Qs in jumpers, he will start earning MACH points 🙂  Then in the Novice class, Judy and Tia picked up their very first AKC qualify — it was a perfect day so far, 7 for 7!

Standard was next…and Jenny realized after watching other people run that she totally walked the course wrong, oops!  And definitely not the event Jenny wants to be second guessing herself in.  There was a wrap to the table that was catching several competitors.  A lot of dogs were back jumping or taking an off course chute.  Jenny tried to wrap it but Karm was looking the opposite direction…so Jenny turned the opposite way while Karma did the same thing simulataneously as she was trying to try and take the original path Jenny had queued.  Before Karma could back jump, Jenny stuck out her hand and pulled Karma around…the audience found it quite comical 🙂  The final hurdle would be a pull off the dog walk to the left — a lot of dogs were launching straight over the jump just in front of the dog walk.  Somehow Jenny called her off of the wrong course and we finished it out with not just a Q, but a QQ!  This marks our 2nd QQ towards our MACH and towards AKC Nationals — too excited for words!!  Karma also earned 14 MACH points — that’s 22 today!

The last class of the day was Time 2 Beat and now our sights were set on a QQQQ.  It would be our first Quadruple Q ever if we could pull it off….and we did!  Jenny almost forgot the course, but recovered and luckily, no refusals in T2B!  The coolest part is that the Bellevue Dog Obedience Club actually had Quadruple Q ribbons!  Classy touch 🙂

As you can imagine, we floated to Grand Island — our stopping point for tonight.  We celebrated with an indulgant Italian dinner — and a couple ladies had a Q Martini!

Honestly, it’s so hard to believe this week is over!  We had the BEST time.  Thank you to everyone who had a special part in our week — travel buddies Ginger and Judy, ring-side buddy Susan S, our Cruiser Fam — Jill, Teresa, Frank, Jone, Wes, Eva, our Kizmar/Pagliacci family — Kathy, Paul, Sarah, Kym, Our agility connections — Dale, Katherine, Jamie, Carol, Chuck, Neeta, Rod, friends we finally met in person Amy, Susan R, Debbie V, Debbie S, our friends on the VCA Board — Linda, Ed, Rita, Gail ….  what a blast!  And of course to Heather — thank you for agreeing to this crazy 10 days of Vizsla antics, for supporting us in every event, and for rooming with us — and sometimes sharing your bed with a rogue 5280 Vizsla 🙂
