Back in the dirt

This was kinda a miserable, rainy weekend here in Denver.  To top it off we were at the smallest horse arena facility in the state with a dirt parking lot — or as it turned out, mud parking lot.  But even the crappiest days are made better by getting to play agility with Karma.

We were very close to two QQs this weekend, but fell a little short.  She had an absolutely SMOKING run on Saturday in Jumpers, picking up 16 MACH points, today we actually picked up an elusive Standard Q with 22 MACH points to add to the bag.

Jenny actually made a decision to leave agility early today to go get the pups on birds on the Southeast side of town.  No rain out that way, and there isn’t much that makes us happier than seeing Indy on birds.  SO SO glad we went.  Marc had the car all packed so when Jenny and Karma got home, we just jumped into the car.

Bird work was great today!  Halo’s work continues to be promising and Indy again had an absolute ball.  We were also met by Karma’s nephew Sven.  Sven is a Zeke baby!  He was so stinkin’ cute and shows a TON of promise for the field.  He was a little prodigy 🙂  We pulled some flight feathers out of a chukar for him to work and enjoy.  After Sven’s session was over, we set the chukar behind a tree to make his way back to the bird pen.  Then we took all the pups out for one last run before hitting the road.  Loading up, we were missing Indy.  A quick search found him out pointing Sven’s flightless bird.  He was so proud of himself on point and must have been standing it for at least 15 minutes.  Goof!

Hopefully all this April showers will be turning in to May flowers soon!  But for now, it’s time to start packing for Vizsla Nationals!!
