Stopover in Omaha

Guess what time of year it is!!  Vizsla National time!  Yesterday, Jenny and Karma met up with Heather, Gunner, Ginger, and Aja for our trek out East.  This year the National is once again being held in Huron, Ohio, just like it was back in 2012.  And as always, we decided to break up our drive with a couple of detours.

The first detour was to an agility trial in Omaha, Nebraska.  We actually made great time on the drive and were very pleased with The Best Western Plus, Kelly Inn.  They were great about the dogs and even gave us dog cookies and poop bags when we checked in!

This morning we headed over to the indoor soccer complex — it was AWESOME!  I guess the club just recently got permission to come back here and it was a total treat.  HUGE indoor facility with great turf.  They also had a really great catered lunch with all proceeds benefiting an Alzheimer’s group.  Cool idea that we haven’t seen done before!

Karma was also able to rack up a Q in Jumpers and 12 more MACH points!  It was a nice way to break up the drive.  After all runs were in, we loaded back up and headed to Marshalltown, Iowa.  Here we found a GREAT local pizza joint, Zeno’s.  A few slices of pie and a glass or two of red wine and we called it a night!  Tomorrow we have an early start in Obedience, a quick spin around a conformation ring, and then it’s off to Ohio!
