Since Cheeky has been in season, we had to pull from our favorite trial down in New Mexico in early January. I was totally bummed. Then I got an email from NACSW — a different Scent Work venue that allows bitches in season! So, I entered Cheeks and waited patiently for our big day. I was super excited to find out that Ginger was entered with Cousin Carly, and Catherine (Maggie’s Mom) would be there helping all day!
Cheeky wrapped her heat cycle up several days ago, and didn’t have to do the special accommodations for a bitch in season. We were in the afternoon group, as was Ginger, so that was perfect. Ginger and I got lots of catch up time, and I’m happy to report, we both passed with flying colors! The ORT (Odor Recognition Test) certifies you to enter a Nosework 1 Trial. So, Cheeky and Carly are now ready to take on the Nose Work 1 challenge! (And I’m also secretly hoping that Cheeky is pregnant and was imprinting on those babies!)
