Closing out another great year.

This is Deb’s George making snow angels after she finished her track.  Cracks us up!

Well, 2013 was a BUSY year.  But before we do our annual wrap-up and set goals for 2014, we better update you on everything we’ve been up to for the last four days 🙂

Saturday – Monday Karma was staying busy at an agility trial up North in Windsor.  Karma had a FANTASTIC weekend.  Saturday she picked up her 3rd 4th place in just as many trials…this time in Jumpers.  We joked with our friends that our next goal was to get a 3rd place, and Karma did one better!  On Sunday she picked up 2nd place on a super tricky and fun Jumpers course…our first 2nd place in the 20” class.  And it appears she likes red ribbons better than white ones because on Monday she picked up ANOTHER 2nd place, but this time in Standard!  Woo-hoo!  Saturday was extra special too because we were able to cheer our role models — Dale and his Vizsla, Chili Pepper — on to their MACH4!  Truly amazing, it was the kind of weekend dreams are made of 🙂

Here are Karmie’s runs from the weekend, and as always, thanks to Dale & Katherine for the videos.

Saturday Jumpers, 4th place, 11 MACH points: http://youtu.be/fRbKIDoDWHQ

Sunday, Jumpers, 2nd place, 13 MACH points: http://youtu.be/IXZSdgASR7Y

Monday, Standard, 2nd place, 18 MACH points: http://youtu.be/cwBtz_o9xgs

And for the record, Sunday’s run was probably our best run ever…so you should definitely watch that one 🙂

Today we headed up to Loveland to try something totally different.  When we were working on our goal list, our friend Deb suggested we add a TD (tracking dog) to Indy’s list.  We thought this sounded like a brilliant idea, so we met up with her today to take our first tracking lesson.  Indy, Karma, and Halo LOVED the game, so we will definitely have to keep it up!  After we were finished training the Vizslas, we were able to watch her Goldens, Briggs & George, do their tracks at a much more advanced level.  This game is so cool…more to come soon, we hope!

So for our yearly wrap-up, here is what we accomplished with our Vs in addition to Heather & Gunner’s (our partners in crime) wins:

In 2013:

Indy finished his Companion Dog (CD) and Versatility Certificate (VC.)

Karma finished her Master Excellent and Master Excellent Jumpers titles (MX & MXJ), Bronze Jumpers (MJB) and she earned her Novice Fast (NF) and Time 2 Beat (T2B) titles too.

Gunner earned his Beginner Novice (BN), Open Agility (OA), Excellent Jumpers (AXJ), and Novice Fast (NF) titles.

Halo surprised us all by finishing her Championship (CH) and Grand Championship (GCH) within a month of each other.

So between the four of them, they competed and earned titles in Conformation, Agility, and Obedience!  Not too shabby and they totally exceeded our expectations 🙂

At the trial this weekend, Jenny and Heather sat down to update our goal list…lofty as ever, but it keeps us on our toes!  Bring it on 2014!
